His Highness the Amir Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah received on Monday congratulatory cables from leaders of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) states, Arab and friendly countries, on the occasion of Kuwait's National and Liberation Day.
In return, His Highness expressed gratitude for the warm sentiments, extending his good wishes and hoping for continued strong ties and prosperity between Kuwait and the friendly nations.

Under the patronage and in the presence of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, the Fifth Fence National Operetta was held on Monday at Bayan Palace Theater.
The event was also attended by His Highness the Crown Prince, Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah, His Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Ahmad Abdullah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, and senior state officials.
The ceremony began with the national anthem, followed by student performances of the national operetta, which highlighted Kuwait's unity, resilience and leadership in safeguarding the nation.
On this occasion, a commemorative gift was presented to His Highness before his departure.

His Highness the Amir wished the Japanese Emperor good health and further welfare for the people of Japan.
