Kuwait Amir honors distinguished teachers, schools on World Teachers' Day

His Highness the Amir Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah patronized and attended on Tuesday a ceremony honoring a group of outstanding teachers and schools marking World Teachers' Day for the 2023-2024 and 2024-2025 academic years.
The event, held at Sheikh Abdullah Al-Jaber Al-Sabah Theater in Abdullah Al-Salem University, was attended by the Crown Prince His Highness Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah, His Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Ahmad Abdullah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, and senior state officials.
Upon arrival, His Highness the Amir was received by Minister of Education Dr. Jalal Al-Tabtabai and the organizing committee.
The ceremony began with the national anthem followed by a recitation of verses from the Holy Quran. Delivering his speech, Minister Al-Tabtabai said that the honorees were proud of being recognized by the Kuwaiti leadership, which is keen on boosting education in the country.
He praised His Highness the Amir's directives for the educational sector based on cultivating talents and utilizing them in the development of the country.
He revealed that some 600,000 students were enrolled in government schools with capable teaching and administrative stuff, the main driving elements for plans of development in Kuwait.
Honoring teachers is necessary for they are the guide in building the future, he asserted, adding that the latest of technological tools were used to enhance the educational experience in Kuwait.
The minister went on to say that, his ministry was carrying on its educational reform plan for 2025-27, which translates the state's national vision.
The plan covered all aspects of educational development, Al-Tabtabai said, noting that transparency and discipline were driving factors in institutional excellence.
The ministry has also focused on bolstering cooperation with regional and international organizations, including the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD), exchanging expertize and the knowledge to help develop Kuwait's digital educational transformation.
He affirmed that the Ministry of Education would continue to boost its efforts to achieve the goals of the New Kuwait Vision 2035.
He addressed educators and thanked for their relentless efforts in raising generations of Kuwaiti students, who are now in leading positions in the state.
Teacher Khalil Saud Al-Harbi delivered a speech on behalf of the honored teachers, thanking the Kuwaiti leadership for their unequivocal support of teachers on the celebration of the World Teachers' Day, vowing to continue giving back to the country through important posts.
A short film titled "Teacher Leaders" was screened, highlighting the evolution of education in Kuwait, the role of educators in shaping values and fostering national development, followed by a musical performance.
His Highness the Amir awarded the attending teachers and representatives of the excellent schools before departing the venue.

Kuwait Amir visits Blind Association

His Highness the Amir Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, accompanied by His Highness Prime Minister Sheikh Dr. Mohammad Sabah Al-Salem Al-Sabah, visited Kuwait Blind Association on Tuesday marking the occasion of the holy month of Ramadan. Upon arrival, His Highness the Amir was received by Minister of Social Affairs, Family and Children Affairs Sheikh Feras Saud Al-Sabah, Board Manager of the Association Fayiz Al-Azmi, and the Association's Secretary Mansour Al-Enezi. Afterwards, His Highness the Amir delivered a speech on the occasion where he expressed his best wishes on the holy month of Ramadan and asked Allah Almighty for his blessing to all Arab and Islamic nations. His Highness the Amir noted that today he marks and praise the exerted efforts and roles of "our visionary sons in the Kuwait Blind Association." "Through their participation in sports tournaments at the regional and international levels, and their hosting last February of the Asian Blind Union Conference, with the participation of (24) countries, which consolidated the State of Kuwait's interest in people of determination, especially the blind, at the legislative and executive levels," His Highness the Amir added. His Highness the Amir also congratulated the recommendation of the Secretary of the Association for the position of Secretary-General of the Asian Federation, and his selection as a member of the Executive Committee of the World Blind Union. His Highness the Amir also directed the relevant state institutions to follow up on the issues and needs of Blind Association members, support their activities, provide devices, machines and tools that help them in their lives, including providing them with job opportunities that suit their circumstances, and encourages their distinguished determination.

Kuwait Amir urges voters to select best representatives, future MPs to have nat'l role

His Highness the Amir Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah called Monday on voters to select candidates who would be their best representatives, and hoped future MPs would benefit from past experiences and live up to their national responsibilities. "I talk to you ... hoping as we approach the National Assembly elections 2024 (on April 4) to better select your representatives, not to select whose objective is personal gain or inciting crises, or harming constitutional principles, your sound selection is your path for the building of a future for your nation and the generations," His Highness the Amir said in an address to the nation on the occasion of the last 10 days of Ramadan. "Don't betray your vote, and the candidate should speak in what satisfies the Almighty, has well-spoken dialogue which avoids harming of others, inciting sentiments and emotions of voters at the expense of the nation and citizens," he said. His Highness the Amir hoped the next parliament would be "distinguished with faces with enlightened thinking .. National Assembly members who benefit from previous parliamentary lessons and experiences, and live up to their national responsibilities." He said: "We are looking forward to participation of citizens of our beloved nation in election, and who boycott it will relinquish his constitutional right, does not perform his duty to select, and has no right after that to blame anyone for the poor outcome nor poor performance and achievement. "Everyone should neglect those inciting division and sedition, be united, protect Kuwait and its people," he said. His Highness the Amir, meanwhile, said it was evident the severe damage that happened to the national identity through tampering with Kuwait's nationality. "Because the national identity represents existence, an issue of rule and a destiny of a nation, so an assault on it is an assault on the structure of the state and its major components, and cannot be ignored, therefore we commend and support all efforts and measures aimed at preserving the national identity," he asserted. His Highness the Amir prayed to Allah the Almighty to bestow his blessings upon the State of Kuwait to enjoy security, progress, and prosperity, urging for the love and loyalty of the Kuwait in a selfless and united manner. His Highness the Amir also prayed to the Almighty to support "our brothers in Gaza, have mercy on their martyrs and ours," heal the sick, and have mercy on "our former rulers."

Kuwait Amir visits Disabled Sport Club

His Highness the Amir Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, accompanied by His Highness Prime Minister Sheikh Dr. Mohammad Sabah Al-Salem Al-Sabah, visited the Kuwait Disabled Sport Club on Tuesday evening on the occasion of the holy month of Ramadan. His Highness the Amir was welcomed by Minister of State for National Affairs and Minister of State for Youth Affairs and Minister of State for Communication Affairs Dawood Marafie, Director-General of the Public Sports Authority Yousef Abdullah Al-Baidan and the Club's Board Chairman Shafi Mohammad Al-Hajri. His Highness the Amir addressed the gathering by saying that he was pleased to visit the club to congratulate its disabled members, their families, and officials on the holy month of Ramadan. He said that the State of Kuwait, with all sectors concerned, has been paying much attention to the disabled as being a main component of the Kuwaiti social fabric, providing them will much care and support. He thanked the club's administration and everyone concerned for their care to the members, citing championships in several international events, particularly the win of 24 medals in the Sharjah International Para Athletics Forum and the 15th Fazza International Athletics Championship in the UAE. His Highness the Amir also thanked the families of the champions and disabled champions, who had proved strong resolve and will to address challenges, urging them to keep on attaining goals and maintaining their levels. However, His Highness the Amir called on those in charge of the affairs of the disabled to adopt all-out policies to support them, empower them, and incorporate them in society by means of providing them with health, housing, and educational care, and enacting appropriate legislation to protect them.
