Kuwait Amir honors distinguished teachers, schools on World Teachers' Day

His Highness the Amir Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah patronized and attended on Tuesday a ceremony honoring a group of outstanding teachers and schools marking World Teachers' Day for the 2023-2024 and 2024-2025 academic years.
The event, held at Sheikh Abdullah Al-Jaber Al-Sabah Theater in Abdullah Al-Salem University, was attended by the Crown Prince His Highness Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah, His Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Ahmad Abdullah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, and senior state officials.
Upon arrival, His Highness the Amir was received by Minister of Education Dr. Jalal Al-Tabtabai and the organizing committee.
The ceremony began with the national anthem followed by a recitation of verses from the Holy Quran. Delivering his speech, Minister Al-Tabtabai said that the honorees were proud of being recognized by the Kuwaiti leadership, which is keen on boosting education in the country.
He praised His Highness the Amir's directives for the educational sector based on cultivating talents and utilizing them in the development of the country.
He revealed that some 600,000 students were enrolled in government schools with capable teaching and administrative stuff, the main driving elements for plans of development in Kuwait.
Honoring teachers is necessary for they are the guide in building the future, he asserted, adding that the latest of technological tools were used to enhance the educational experience in Kuwait.
The minister went on to say that, his ministry was carrying on its educational reform plan for 2025-27, which translates the state's national vision.
The plan covered all aspects of educational development, Al-Tabtabai said, noting that transparency and discipline were driving factors in institutional excellence.
The ministry has also focused on bolstering cooperation with regional and international organizations, including the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD), exchanging expertize and the knowledge to help develop Kuwait's digital educational transformation.
He affirmed that the Ministry of Education would continue to boost its efforts to achieve the goals of the New Kuwait Vision 2035.
He addressed educators and thanked for their relentless efforts in raising generations of Kuwaiti students, who are now in leading positions in the state.
Teacher Khalil Saud Al-Harbi delivered a speech on behalf of the honored teachers, thanking the Kuwaiti leadership for their unequivocal support of teachers on the celebration of the World Teachers' Day, vowing to continue giving back to the country through important posts.
A short film titled "Teacher Leaders" was screened, highlighting the evolution of education in Kuwait, the role of educators in shaping values and fostering national development, followed by a musical performance.
His Highness the Amir awarded the attending teachers and representatives of the excellent schools before departing the venue.

Kuwait Amir visits Sports Club for Deaf

His Highness the Amir Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah paid a visit Monday to Kuwait Sports Club for the Deaf. His Highness, accompanied by His Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Dr. Mohammad Sabah Al-Salem Al-Sabah, delivered a speech, in which he greeted and congratulated the Club's members and staff on the holy month of Ramadan. His Highness the Amir also expressed appreciation to Club members for their efforts and contributions in all activities; especially sports, on both local and international levels, reiterating the State's keenness to provide all support and care to ensure the development and improvement of skills of all Club members. "With your skills, you established that determination and sport can overcome disability, and you are able to achieve goals and ambitions," His Highness addressed the gathering. At His Highness's reception were Minister of State for National Assembly Affairs, Minister of State for Youth Affairs and Minister of State for Communications' Affairs Dawood Marafi, Director General of the Public Authority for Sports Youssef Al-Baidan and Chairman of the Club Anwar Al-Harbi. At the conclusion, His Highness was presented with a souvenir marking the visit.

Kuwait Amir receives invitation to WEF meeting from Saudi Crown Prince

His Highness the Amir Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah received a handwritten letter Tuesday from the Crown Prince and Prime Minister of Saudi Arabia, Mohammad bin Salman Al-Saud. The letter contained an invitation to participate in the World Economic Forum (WEF) meeting in Riyadh next April, under the title "International Cooperation, Growth, and Energy for Development". The letter was delivered by Saudi Arabia's Ambassador to Kuwait, Prince Sultan bin Saad Al-Saud.

Kuwait Amir visits Nabat Poets' Diwan

His Highness the Amir Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah on Monday visited the Nabat Poets' Diwan, accompanied by His Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Dr. Mohammad Sabah Al-Salem Al-Sabah. They were welcomed by Minister of Amiri Diwan Affairs Sheikh Mohammad Abdullah Al-Mubarak Al-Sabah and Secretary and Director of the Diwan Nassar Al-Khamsan. His Highness the Amir, in a speech, congratulated the audience on the holy month of Ramadhan. His Highness the Amir praised the Diwan as a great edifice for conserving the literary heritage, social traditions and national identity of the country, hailing efforts of the Diwan to digitize the traditional Nabati poetry, keep abreast with the advancement of information technology, and tap into the experience of the Ministry of Information in this regard. Further, His Highness the Amir called on the Diwan members to adhere to the rules and parameters of Nabati poetry; continue excelling in producing creative poems; organize more competitions and symposia; encourage young poets to adopt this style of poetry; and publicize this poetry via the traditional and modern mass media. On his part, Secretary and Director of the Diwaniya Nassar Al-Khamsan expressed, on behalf of Diwan members, best wishes for His Highness the Amir. He also read a Nabati poem welcoming His Highness the Amir, His Highness the Prime Minister and other officials.

Kuwait Amir invited to Arab Summit due in Bahrain

His Highness the Amir Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah on Monday received a written letter from Bahraini King Hamad bin Issa bin Salman Al-Khalifa inviting him to the 33rd regular session of the Arab League Council at the summit level, due in Manama in May. The letter was handed to His Highness the Amir by the Bahraini Ambassador to the State of Kuwait, Salah Ali Al-Malki. State officials attended the meeting of the envoy with His Highness the Amir at Bayan Palace.
