His Highness the Amir Sheikh Mishal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah and his accompanying delegation left Kuwait on Tuesday heading to Oman on a state visit. His Highness the Amir is expected to meet with Sultan of Oman Haitham bin Tareq. The two leaders will patronize and attend the opening of Al-Duqm oil refinery and petrochemical complex. His Highness the Deputy Amir Sheikh Dr. Mohammad Sabah Al-Salem Al-Sabah, Speaker of the National Assembly Ahmad Al-Saadoun, His Highness Sheikh Nasser Al-Mohammad Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, head of the Crown Prince Diwan Sheikh Ahmad Abdullah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, His Highness Sheikh Sabah Al-Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah, His Highness Sheikh Ahmad Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, Deputy head of the Kuwait National Guard (KNG) Sheikh Faisal Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs Shereeda Al-Mousherji, and senior state officials saw His Highness the Amir off at the airport. Accompanying His Highness the Amir are Sheikh Mohammad Abdulaziz Al-Jarrah Al-Sabah, Sheikh Hamad Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, Sheikh Mubarak Al-Humoud Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, Sheikh Athbi Nasser Al-Athbi Al-Sabah, Sheikh Ali Khaled Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, Sheikh Mansour Mubarak Abdullah Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, Sheikh Dr. Basel Al-Humoud Al-Malek Al-Sabah, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Oil Dr. Imad Al-Atiqi, and senior officials at the Amiri Diwan.

His Highness the Amir Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah signed an Amiri Order Thursday appointing Sheikh Dr. Mohammad Sabah Al-Salem as Prime Minister and assigned him to form a government. Born in 1955, Sheikh Dr. Mohammad had a bachelor's degree in economics from Claremont Graduate University and a PhD from Harvard University, and was appointed as professor at Kuwait University in 1985. He worked at Kuwait Institute for Scientific Research in 1987-88. Sheikh Dr. Mohammad was appointed Ambassador to the US in 1993 and stayed there until his appointment as Minister of State for Foreign Affairs on February 14, 2001. He was appointed Minister of Foreign Affairs and Acting Minister of Social Affairs and Labor on July 14, 2003. On February 9, 2006, Sheikh Dr. Mohammad was named Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister. He was reappointed in the same post in July 2006 and March 2007, as well as in cabinet reshuffles in October 2007 and May 2008. He held the same position in the governments formed on May 29, 2009, and May 8, 2011.

On behalf of Saudi King Salman bin Abdulaziz, Crown Prince Mohammad bin Salman Al-Saud decorated His Highness the Amir Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah with King Abdulaziz Medal in recognition and appreciation for His Highness.

In presence of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Mishal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, His Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Dr. Mohammadآ Sabah Al-Salem Al-Sabah, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Al-Quds Fund and Endowment, Prince Turki Al-Faisal bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud, and Al-Sabah family members, a luncheon was held by Sheikh Ali Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah at Azayez farm in Kuwait's northern Al-Abdali area on Wednesday.

His Highness the Amir Sheikh Mishal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah leaves on Tuesday with his accompanying delegation to Oman on a state visit. His Highness the Amir, with the Sultanate of Oman Sultan Haitham Bin Tariq will attend the opening ceremony of the Duqm Refinery and Petrochemical Industries Company on Wednesday.

His Highness the Amir Sheikh Mishal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah received at Seif Palace on Sunday His Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Dr. Mohammad Sabah Al-Salem Al-Sabah. His Highness the Amir also hosted His Highness Sheikh Ahmad Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah.

His Highness the Amir Sheikh Mishal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah received on Wednesday a cable from Interim President of Republic of Mali Assimi Goita, congratulating His Highness on assuming office. In the cable, the president wished His Highness the Amir success and good health, and further progress and prosperity to Kuwait. His Highness the Amir sent a reply cable to the president, expressing his sincere gratitude and appreciation for his heartfelt sentiments.

His Highness the Amir Sheikh Mishal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah sent on Wednesday a cable of congratulations to Sultan Ibrahim, the King of Malaysia, on taking the oath of office. His Highness the Amir wished the King of Malaysia success and good health and further development and progress for the good relationship between Kuwait and Malaysia.
