Amir visits Kuwait Fire Force

His Highness the Amir Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, accompanied by His Highness the Crown Prince Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah and His Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Ahmad Abdullah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, visited the Kuwait Fire Force (KFF) on Tuesday.
Upon arrival, His Highness the Amir was received by First Deputy Prime Minister and Interior Minister Sheikh Fahad Yusuf Saud Al-Sabah and KFF chief Maj. Gen. Talal Al-Roumi.
Addressing the KFF's staff, His Highness the Amir said: "On this blessed night of Ramadan, it's a pleasure for me, His Highness the Crown Prince and His Highness the Prime Minister to meet the KFF personnel to exchange congratulations of this holy month and Kuwait's national days." His Highness the Amir expressed appreciation to sincere efforts exerted by the KFF to save lives and protect property to ensure a safe life of society based on loyalty and responsibility.
His Highness the Amir also commended the KFF personnel for continued human development through an education and training system and empowering women.
His Highness the Amir appreciated boosting cooperation between the state's military and security institutions and developing partnerships with public and private bodies.
His Highness the Amir valued the steps made to support the Kuwait's leading status in safety and security fields, praising the "International Commander Medal" given by the International Civil Defense Organization to Sheikh Fahad Al-Yusuf.
His Highness the Amir affirmed Kuwait's support for KFF efforts, instructing its officials to expand services and keep pace with urban expansion, keeping at the same time developing human and field potential of the KFF.
His Highness the Amir also asked KFF officials and personnel to raise digital awareness and intensify field tours of stores and facilities to spread the culture of protection and safety.
In addition, His Highness the Amir asked the KFF officials to enhance the foreign training program, and regional and international collaboration as well as keep updated on the latest technical and military developments.
His Highness the Amir finally prayed to Allah Almighty to help the KFF personnel achieve their missions and protect the dear homeland.
Meanwhile, Al-Roumi expressed the honor felt by himself and the KFF personnel in welcoming His Highness the Amir.
He said that His Highness the Amir's visit morally supports the KFF and enhances the spirit of responsibility and belonging.
He also voiced pride for His Highness the Amir's instructions given during the last visit that formed a launch of the development path.
The instructions have contributed to raising vigilance and readiness of the staff, which have resulted in the signing of a protocol with the National Council for Culture, Arts and Letters (NCCAL) on maintaining the country's heritage and property.
Al-Roumi said that the KFF stands on the front line against risks and cooperates with their brothers at military bodies.
Al-Roumi announced the first Artificial Intelligence officer - inaugurating a new phase of digital and technological transformation.
The initiative targets KFF personnel, entrepreneurs, and various segments of society. It is a unique project that incorporates and integrates modern technology, he noted.

Kuwait Amir visits Interior Ministry on occasion of Ramadan

His Highness the Amir Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, accompanied by His Highness the Crown Prince Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah and His Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Ahmad Abdullah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, met with personnel of the Ministry of Interior on Tuesday.
Addressing the ministry's staff, His Highness the Amir emphasized that security is the cornerstone of state strength and societal stability, noting that the Ministry of Interior is at the forefront of enforcing law and order.
His Highness commended the dedication and professionalism of personnel across all sectors, highlighting their role in safeguarding the nation, protecting rights, and reinforcing the prestige and authority of the state.
His Highness the Amir also praised the Ministry for recent achievements, including receiving awards from the General Secretariat of Arab Interior Ministers Council for Arab and international cooperation, in recognition of its coordinated efforts in combating narcotics across the region.
Further, His Highness lauded the ministry's coordination with relevant authorities and legislative improvements, including the implementation of a new traffic law and an updated anti-drug law providing a comprehensive regulatory and punitive framework.
His Highness highlighted advancements in security systems, such as the launch of AI-based smart patrols, the development of land border surveillance systems, and the operation of remotely controlled maritime vessels within the Coast Guard fleet.
His Highness reaffirmed the Ministry's ongoing support and instructed senior officials to maintain vigilance and field coordination, ensure strict and fair law enforcement, and maintain continuous patrolling to ensure public security and stability.
He also stressed the importance of strengthening regional and international partnerships to address shared challenges, improve security coordination, exchange expertise, and support joint Gulf security initiatives.
Moreover, His Highness emphasized institutional development and security governance through workforce training, implementing approved action plans and updated legislation, and improving public services using modern tools and open-door policies.
His Highness the Amir prayed for divine guidance and success for all ministry personnel in serving the nation, and for the continued safety, peace, and prosperity of Kuwait.

Kuwait marks Amir Sheikh Meshal's 1st anni. in office Fri.

The State of Kuwait marks tomorrow (Friday) His Highness the Amir Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah's first anniversary since assuming office, succeeding the late Amir Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah.
On December 20, His Highness the Amir took the constitutional oath at a special National Assembly session becoming the state's 17th Amir, as per Article 60 of the country's Constitution.
Following the oath-taking ceremony, His Highness gave his first speech as head of state, a speech that drew a roadmap for the future ahead.
"Today I have become head of the state and I pledge to the Kuwaiti people through you to be a loyal citizen for his nation and people, keen on the interest of the nation, keen on national unity," His Highness the Amir said.
Over the past 12 months, His Highness the Amir gave directives that encompassed a variety of fields including economic, developmental, political, security, social, scientific, as well as the state's ability to face challenges, and get the wheel of sustainable development churning.
His Highness directed that no efforts should be spared, no time lost in accelerating rate of achievement, identifying priorities and addressing infrastructure issues.
Expanding developmental and social role of governorates and increasing family contributions to brainstorming process, were a focus of His Highness the Amir instructions, alongside augmenting role of media to shed light on government accomplishments.
Economically, His Highness called for working on the economic and investment sectors to arrive at a more sustainable economy, enhanced business environment, and expanded foreign investments that would serve as the driving force behind growth, deepening international partnerships, and appealing to large enterprises.
He called for seeking the expertise of intellectuals to arrive at correct decisions as well as to adopt open door policies and connect to the masses.
Polishing government performance, boosting efficiency, transparency and accountability, as well as adopting modern systems and digitization techniques were at the forefront of His Highness the Amir's concerns.
He underlined social justice, providing equal opportunities and practical solutions, all while preserving public funds, and instilling principles of integrity and combatting corruption in all its forms.
Stemming from His Highness the Amir's belief that the youth are the true treasure of this nation, he instructed supporting them and providing them with all the means and opportunities necessary.
His Highness also took note of women's empowerment and protecting rights of people with disabilities, adopting policies that would integrate them in society.
His Highness the Amir urged for placing the interest of the homeland above all, holding on to unity, preserving identity, applying the rule of law on all with no exceptions, and providing nationals and residents with a sense of security.
As for the Defense Ministry, His Highness instructed amplifying inspection of facilities to guarantee safekeeping of equipment and ensure and maximum benefit, as well as intensifying training, joint drills, and overall readiness.
He also directed increasing cooperation between military and state establishments, protecting cyberspace and encouraging national cadres, all to enable armed forces to protect the homeland.
Prior to becoming Amir, His Highness' six-decade career was marked with high-ranking security and military titles at both the Interior Ministry and National Guard, after which he became the Crown Prince.
His Highness the Amir had accompanied late Amirs on many official trips, and represented the leadership in many more.
Following his ascension to office, His Highness the Amir was present on many occasions including attending the official inauguration of Abdullah Al-Salem University, visiting Kuwait Sport Club for Deaf, Kuwait Blind Association, Poets Diwaniya and the Disabled Sports Society.

The Amir inaugurated Sabah Al-Salem University City and honored top graduates, and in December patronized and attended the KFAS awards' ceremony.
His Highness' December 20 speech also included pledges of remaining steadfast in relations with fraternal and friendly nations, as well as issues of common interest, and regional and international commitments.
As part of efforts in cementing Gulf unity, His Highness the Amir went on several official state visits beginning with Saudi Arabia, followed by Oman, Bahrain, Qatar and then the United Arab Emirates.
Kuwait hosted in December 1 the Gulf Cooperation Council Summit, as an embodiment of the unity and strength of relations between Gulf nations.
The Summit focused on bolstering joint gulf work, keeping pace with rapid regional and international developments, as well as expanding cooperation avenues to meet aspirations of gulf nations.
On the pan-Arab front, the Amir is continuing down path of cooperation to resolve Arab issues, namely the Palestinian situation and protection of the territorial integrity of Arab lands, their independence and sovereignty.
His Highness the Amir visited both Jordan and Egypt back in April and delved into issues of common interest and latest updates.
On a more international level, the Amir advocated for engaging in dialogue to resolve issues in a peaceful manner.
His Highness the Amir visited Turkiye and signed six agreements concerning various fields.
The Amir received United Nations Secretary General Antonio Guterres, and Chief of European Council Charles Michel as well as a host of Arab and international officials.
The first year of His Highness the Amir's reign marks the beginning of a journey and development that was launched long ago by his predecessors.

Kuwait Amir congratulates Qatar on Nat'l Day

His Highness the Amir Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah sent on Wednesday a cable of congratulations to the Amir of Qatar Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani on the occasion of Qatar's National Day and the anniversary of Qatar's founder, Sheikh Jassim bin Mohammad Al-Thani's assumption of office.
In the cable, His Highness the Amir Sheikh Meshal lauded firm fraternal relations between both royal families, countries and peoples, stressing keenness on promoting and developing aspects of existing cooperation in various fields.
His Highness the Amir also commended Qatar's notable development achievements, while wishing the Amir of Qatar good health and Qatar and its people more progress and development under the country's wise leadership.

The State of Kuwait marks, Monday, His Highness Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah first anniversary of being named as the Amir, taking the helm after a long line of predecessors and achievements, and succeeding late Amir Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah.
On December 16, 2023, the cabinet met announcing the passing of His Highness Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad and proclaiming His Highness Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, then Crown Prince, as the Amir according to the Constitution and article four of the law concerning Succession.
On December 20, His Highness the Amir took the constitutional oath at a special National Assembly session becoming the state's 17th Amir, as per stipulations of article 60 of the constitution.
Prior to becoming Amir, His Highness' six-decade career was marked by high-ranking security and military titles in both the Interior Ministry and National Guard, after which he became the Crown Prince.
His Highness the Amir had accompanied late Amirs on many official trips and represented the leadership in many more.
Sheikh Meshal, born in Kuwait 1940, is the seventh son of Kuwait's 10th Ruler Sheikh Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Mubarak Al-Sabah who governed the country between 1921 and 1950.
In his early childhood, he was taught reading and writing by his parents and some seniors in the family before joining Al-Mubarakiya School, the first private school in Kuwait at the time.
He continued higher-level studies in the UK where he graduated from Hendon Police College in 1960.
After returning home, he joined the freshly-established Ministry of Interior. In 1987, he was appointed public inspection chief with a colonel's rank and remained in the department for up to 20 years occupying diverse posts.
On April 17, 2004, Sheikh Meshal was appointed according to an Amiri Decree the Deputy Chief of the National Guards with a Minister's Degree, where he contributed to overhauling this sensitive security apparatus and enhanced its role in maintaining the national security.
On October 7, 2020, Sheikh Meshal was proclaimed as the State Crown Prince during a special session of the National Assembly, where he took the constitutional oath in front of the MPs after a swearing-in ceremony in front of the late Amir, according to the Emirate Succession Law and Kuwait Constitution.
Prioritizing local issues and events, His Highness the Amir was present on many occasions including attending the official inauguration of Abdullah Al-Salem University, visiting Kuwait Sports Club for Deaf, Kuwait Blind Association, Poets Diwaniya and the Disabled Sports Society.
He also attended honoring ceremonies for exemplary teachers and for Sheikh Salem Al-Ali Informatics Award.
The Amir inaugurated Sabah Al-Salem University City and honored top graduates, and in December patronized and attended the KFAS awards' ceremony.
On May tenth, 2024, His Highness the Amir dissolved parliament and suspended some articles of the constitution for a period no more than four years in order to reevaluated the democratic process in the country and ensure the greater good for the country.

Kuwait Amir receives Duke of Edinburgh

His Highness the Amir Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah received at Bayan Palace on Tuesday the Royal Prince Edward, Duke of Edinburgh, and his accompanying delegation who arrived in the country earlier today starting an official visit.
The Duke of Edinburgh handed His Highness the Amir a written message from the UK King Charles III dealing with means of boosting further the deep-rooted and historic relations bonding the State of Kuwait and the UK.
The message included an invitation to His Highness the Amir to visit the UK.
For his part, His Highness the Amir asked Prince Edward to relay his greetings to King Charles, his wishes for him to enjoy good health and for the UK people to experience further progress and prosperity.

Kuwait Amir receives Kuwait FM, new diplomats

His Highness the Amir Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah received Minister of Foreign Affairs Abdullah Al-Yahya at Bayan Palace Monday morning.
During the meeting, the Minister introduced to His Highness the Amir the new ambassadors and consuls of Kuwait: Ambassador to Romania Abdullah Abdulrahman Al-Shatti, Ambassador to France Abdullah Suleiman Al-Shahin, Ambassador to Poland Saad Abdulaziz Al-Mehaini, Ambassador to Bangladesh Ali Thunayan Hamada, Ambassador to Mongolia Mutlaq Abdullah Al-Thuwamer, Consul General to the UAE in Dubai and the Northern Emirates Khaled Abdulrahim Al-Zaabi, Ambassador to New Zealand Sheikh Sabah Nasser Hamoud Al-Malik Al-Sabah, and Consul General to Saudi Arabia in Jeddah Yousef Abdullah Al-Tunaib.
They took their oaths of office before His Highness the Amir, with senior state officials in attendance.

Kuwait Amir congratulates Bahrain's King on nat'l day

His Highness the Amir Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah has sent a cable of congratulations to the King of Bahrain Hamad bin Issa bin Salman Al-Khalifa on his country's 53rd national day and the 25th anniversary of his accession to power.
His Highness the Amir lauded the significant achievements and development during the era of King Hamad and commended the strong ties linking the State of Kuwait with the Kingdom of Bahrain.
He affirmed both countries' commitment to bolster relations and cooperation in various sectors, expressed good wishes to King Hamad as well as to his country so it may witness further progress and development under the Monarch's wise leadership.
