On behalf of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, the Amiri Diwan on Wednesday voiced thanks to all citizens and residents for having offered condolence over the demise of Sheikh Ali Abdullah Al-Salem Al-Mubarak Al-Sabah, praying to Allah Almighty to bestow mercy upon his soul and grant him the highest place in paradise.

His Highness the Amir Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah on Tuesday sent a condolence cable to President of Niger and Chairman of the National Council for the Safeguard of the Homeland Abdourahamane Tchiani, over the victims of heavy rains. In the cable, His Highness the Amir prayed to Almighty Allah to bestow mercy upon the dead and wished speedy recovery for the injured, hoping for the friendly country to overcome the impacts of such a natural disaster.

His Highness the Amir Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah sent a cable of condolences Tuesday to Saudi Arabian King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud, expressing sincere condolences for the passing of Princess Sultana bint Saud bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud. In the cable, His Highness the Amir sent thoughts and prayers to the royal family, asking Allah Almighty to have mercy on her soul.

The Amiri Diwan on Sunday mourned demise of Sheikh Ali Abdullah Al-Salem Al-Mubarak Al-Sabah who passed away at the age of 78. He will be laid to rest after maghreb prayers tomorrow (Monday).

His Highness the Amir Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah sent Wednesday a cable of congratulations to the Bahamas Governor General Cynthia Pratt on her country's national day. His Highness the Amir wished the governor long AND healthy life and further prosperity for the Bahamas.

His Highness the Amir Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah sent a cable of condolences on Tuesday to President of Nepal Ram Chandra Poudel, expressing sincere condolences over victims of the flooding and landslide that hit the country following incessant rains. In the cable, His Highness the Amir wished a speedy recovery of the injured and hoped that Nepali officials would be able to overcome the effects of this natural disaster.

His Highness the Amir Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah received on Monday at Bayan Palace His Highness the Crown Prince Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah and His Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Ahmad Abdullah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, His Highness the Amir also received First Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Defense and Minister of Interior Sheikh Fahad Yousef Saud Al-Sabah and Iraqi Minister of Interior Lieutenant General Abdulamir Al-Shammari and the accompanying delegation on his official visit to the country. Senior state officials attended the meeting.
