His Highness the Amir Sheikh Mishal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah and an official delegation accompanying him departed on Tuesday to Jordan on a state visit. His Highness the Amir was seen off at the airport by Deputy Amir and designated Prime Minister to form the new government Sheikh Ahmad Al-Abdullah Al-Sabah, His Highness Sheikh Nasser Al-Mohammad Al-Sabah, His Highness Sheikh Sabah Al-Khaled Al-Sabah, His Highness the prime minister of the caretaker government Sheikh Dr. Mohammad Sabah Al-Salem Al-Sabah, His Highness Sheikh Ahmad Al-Nawaf Al-Sabah and other top officials. His Highness the Amir was accompanied by an official delegation that included the Minister of Finance, the Minister of State for Economic Affairs and Investment, Anwar Ali Al-Mudhaf, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Abdullah Ali Al-Yahya, and senior officials in the Amiri Diwan.

His Highness the Amir Sheikh Mishal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah received at Bayan Palace on Sunday the president of the supreme judicial council and the court of cassation, Judge Dr. Adel Majed Bouresli. His Highness the Amir also hosted at Bayan Palace the Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Defense and the Acting Minister of Interior, Sheikh Fahad Yusuf Saud Al-Sabah.

His Highness the Amir Sheikh Mishal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah signed an Order Sunday appointing Sheikh Ahmad Abdullah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah as Deputy Amir while His Highness is abroad. The Amiri Order states that this designation would remain valid until the naming of a Crown Prince, and that the Prime Minister should comply with this Order and inform the National Assembly. The Amiri Order takes effect once published in the official gazette.

His Highness the Amir Sheikh Mishal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah sent on Monday a cable of condolences to the Sultan of Oman Haitham bin Tareq over the victims of the floods that swept the Al-Mudaybi Region in Oman. In the cable, His Highness the Amir wished a speedy recovery to the wounded, expressed solace over the souls of the victims and hoped that the Omani people would overcome this natural disaster.

His Highness the Amir also received Al-Farwaniya Governor Sheikh Athbi Nasser Al-Athbi Al-Sabah, Al-Assima Governor Abdullah Sheikh Salem Al-Ali Al-Sabah, Mubarak Al-Kabeer Governor Sheikh Sabah Badr Sabah Al-Salem Al-Sabah, Al-Ahmadi Governor Sheikh Sabah Badr Sabah Al-Salem Al-Sabah, and Al-Jahraa Governor Hamad Jassem Mohammad Mheisen Al-Habshi for their newly appointed positions as governors.
