His Highness the Amir Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah sent on Friday a cable of congratulations to Liberian President Joseph Boakai on his country's national day, wishing him everlasting health and wellness, and further progress and prosperity to the friendly country and people.

The Amiri Diwan on Wednesday mourned the passing away of Sheikh Jaber Duaij Al-Ibrahim Al-Sabah at the age of 71.
The funeral service is scheduled to take place after Maghreb (sunset) prayers tomorrow (Thursday).

In the cable, His Highness the Amir wished her success and long-lasting health, as well as praised the existing cooperation between Kuwait and the European Union in all fields.

An Amiri decree has been issued appointing a new board of directors of Kuwait Ports Authority (KPA) for a three-year term of office.
The newly named board comprises Alya Aryan, Bashaer Al-Ghanim, Yousef Al-Eseri, Amer Al-Bader, director general of the General Administration of Customs, Assistant Undersecretary of the Ministry of Interior for Ports and Border Security and Assistant Director General of the General Directorate of Coast Guard.
Under the decree, each board member will be paid KD 5,000 per annum.
