Kuwait Amir chairs Supreme Defense Council meeting, follows up regional developments

His Highness the Amir and the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah resided on Tuesday a meeting of the Supreme Defense Council in the presence of His Highness the Crown Prince Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah and His Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Ahmad Abdullah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, to follow up on the latest regional developments.
His Highness the Amir was briefed on all the efforts made by the concerned authorities in the country, the coordination between them, the extent of their readiness, and the high level of preparedness among these various sectors to confront any emergency.
Further, His Highness directed all concern parties to take all necessary measures and precautions to preserve the country's security and stability.

Kuwait Amir calls Amir of Qatar

His Highness the Amir Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah on Monday evening called Amir of Qatar Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani in the aftermath of the missile attack launched by the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) on Al-Udeid air base.
During the phone call, His Highness the Amir voiced Kuwait's emphatic condemnation and denunciation of this obvious aggression as a clear breach of Qatar's sovereignty and airspace, as well as international law and the UN Charter.
His Highness reiterated that the State of Kuwait absolutely stands side by side with Qatar's leadership, government and people, and utterly backs all measures and decisions it is taking to safeguard its sovereignty, security and stability.
His Highness the Amir also underlined Kuwait's readiness to use all its potential and resources to support the State of Qatar, stressing that Qatar's security and stability are an integral part of Kuwait's security and stability.
The Amir of Qatar, for his part, voiced much thanks and appreciation to His Highness the Amir, wishing His Highness good health and the State of Kuwait and its people progress and development.

Kuwait Amir condoles with Saudi King over demise of Prince Faisal bin Khaled

His Highness the Amir Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah sent a cable of condolences Monday to Saudi King Salman bin Abdulaziz over the demise of Prince Faisal bin Khaled bin Mohammad Al-Saud.
In the cable, His Highness the Amir prayed to Allah Almighty to bestow mercy upon the deceased.

His Highness the Amir Sheikh Mishal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah signed an Order Sunday appointing Sheikh Ahmad Abdullah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah as Deputy Amir while His Highness is abroad. The Amiri Order states that this designation would remain valid until the naming of a Crown Prince, and that the Prime Minister should comply with this Order and inform the National Assembly. The Amiri Order takes effect once published in the official gazette.
