His Highness the Amir Sheikh Mishal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah and the official delegation accompanying him departed the UAE after a state visit on Tuesday. His Highness the Amir was seen off by UAE President Sheikh Mohammad bin Zayed Al-Nahyan, UAE Vice President, Deputy Prime Minister and Chairperson of the Presidency Diwan Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al-Nahyan, the State of Kuwait Ambassador to the UAE Jamal Mohammad Al-Ghunaim, and the UAE Ambassador to the State of Kuwait Matar Hamed Al-Nayadi. His Highness the Amir sent a cable of appreciation upon his departure to the UAE President, thanking him for his hospitality which reflected the deep bonds between the two states. His Highness the Amir also expressed great gratitude to the UAE President for awarding him with the Zayed Order. His Highness wished the UAE President and his people health and prosperity.

His Highness the Amir Sheikh Mishal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) President Sheikh Mohammad bin Zayed Al-Nahyan exchanged Orders at Qasr Al-Watan, marking His Highness the Amir's state visit to the UAE. Sheikh Mohammad bin Zayed presented Zayed Order to His Highness the Amir, the highest Order in recognition of the "deep franternal relations" and his efforts to further strengthening the ties. His Highness the Amir presented Sheikh Mohammad bin Zayed with Mubarak Al-Kabeer Order in recognition of his efforts to the progress, stability and prosperity of the UAE and its people, as well as promoting relations among the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries.

His Highness the Amir Sheikh Mishal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, who arrived in the UAE capital with the company of a delegation of officials on Tuesday, was accorded an elaborate welcome at Qasr Al-Watan (the UAE Presidential Palace). Upon arrival of His Highness the Amir's motorcade at the palace, riders of horses and camels lined up on the sides of the road, while popular troupes performed folkloric shows, amid overflights by "Fursan Al-Emarat" (the UAE Knights) aircraft in a dazzling formation depicting the State of Kuwait Flag. A military band blew the trumpets and gunners greeted the Amir's motorcade with a 21-gun salute, with children waving the Kuwaiti and UAE flags lining up along the sides of the road leading to the palace. Upon arrival at the stand of honor, the two countries' national anthems were played. His Highness the Amir then shook hands with the UAE Sheikhs, and senior State officials, while the UAE President Sheikh Mohammad bin Zayed Al-Nahyan welcomed His Highness the Amir and his entourage.

UAE President Sheikh Mohammad bin Zayed Al-Nahyan held a lunch banquet in honor of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Mishal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah and his accompanying delegation on the occasion of His Highness the Amir's visit to the country on Tuesday.

His Highness the Amir Sheikh Mishal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah said Tuesday his state visit to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) would mark "a new beginning" for further strengthening bilateral relations and an affirmation of unity of common positions. His Highness the Amir, in a speech during summit talks with UAE President Sheikh Mohammad bin Zayed Al-Nahyan at Qasr Al-Watan, said he was looking forward to promoting bilateral relationship within the march of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) "to achieve interest of the two countries and their people." His Highness the Amir, who said special relations with the UAE were dated back to decades, expressed gratitude for the UAE leadership and people for the warm welcome and hospitality, which reflected "the strong historic relations and the genuine fraternity between our countries and people." Sheikh Mohammad bin Zayed welcomed His Highness the Amir and wished success for his leadership towards further progress and prosperity at all levels. The official talks dealt with economic, trade, investment and development relations, which witnessed giant leaps in the past years, which would contribute to honoring development goals and boost sustainable prosperity. The two leaders also underlined importance of supporting common Gulf action amidst regional and international challenges, in a way that would achieve common interests of the GCC countries and their people, as well as contribute to boosting regional security and stability. They affirmed that the State of Kuwait and the UAE were firm supporters of the GCC to its interests. Sheikh Mohammad bin Zayed said the tour of His Highness the Amir to the GCC countries mirrored his keenness to supporting the Gulf bloc, bolstering solidarity, supporting aspirations of the Gulf citizens, cooperation and integration amidst development and challenges in the region. The UAE believes and supports the objectives of this tour "and considers it an integral part of its policy," he said. Sheikh Mohammad bin Zayed said he was confident the wisdom and vision of His Highness the Amir aimed at continuing the path of development triggered by late Kuwait leaders, and their contributions, specially health and education, would remain in the hearts and minds of peoples of the UAE and the Gulf. The two leaders reaffirmed that bilateral historic relations were based on strong foundation of respect and understanding amidst common regional challenges. The talks were attended by the official delegation accompanying His Highness the Amir.

His Highness the Amir was also welcomed at the airport by the UAE Vice President, Deputy Prime Minister and Chairperson of the Presidency Diwan Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al-Nahyan, the Advisor of Special Affairs at the Presidency Diwan Sheikh Mohammad bin Hamad bin Tahnoun Al-Nahyan, the State of Kuwait Ambassador to the UAE Jamal Mohammad Al-Ghunaim, and the UAE Ambassador to the State of Kuwait Matar Hamed Al-Nayadi.
