Kuwait Amir honors distinguished teachers, schools on World Teachers' Day

His Highness the Amir Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah patronized and attended on Tuesday a ceremony honoring a group of outstanding teachers and schools marking World Teachers' Day for the 2023-2024 and 2024-2025 academic years.
The event, held at Sheikh Abdullah Al-Jaber Al-Sabah Theater in Abdullah Al-Salem University, was attended by the Crown Prince His Highness Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah, His Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Ahmad Abdullah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, and senior state officials.
Upon arrival, His Highness the Amir was received by Minister of Education Dr. Jalal Al-Tabtabai and the organizing committee.
The ceremony began with the national anthem followed by a recitation of verses from the Holy Quran. Delivering his speech, Minister Al-Tabtabai said that the honorees were proud of being recognized by the Kuwaiti leadership, which is keen on boosting education in the country.
He praised His Highness the Amir's directives for the educational sector based on cultivating talents and utilizing them in the development of the country.
He revealed that some 600,000 students were enrolled in government schools with capable teaching and administrative stuff, the main driving elements for plans of development in Kuwait.
Honoring teachers is necessary for they are the guide in building the future, he asserted, adding that the latest of technological tools were used to enhance the educational experience in Kuwait.
The minister went on to say that, his ministry was carrying on its educational reform plan for 2025-27, which translates the state's national vision.
The plan covered all aspects of educational development, Al-Tabtabai said, noting that transparency and discipline were driving factors in institutional excellence.
The ministry has also focused on bolstering cooperation with regional and international organizations, including the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD), exchanging expertize and the knowledge to help develop Kuwait's digital educational transformation.
He affirmed that the Ministry of Education would continue to boost its efforts to achieve the goals of the New Kuwait Vision 2035.
He addressed educators and thanked for their relentless efforts in raising generations of Kuwaiti students, who are now in leading positions in the state.
Teacher Khalil Saud Al-Harbi delivered a speech on behalf of the honored teachers, thanking the Kuwaiti leadership for their unequivocal support of teachers on the celebration of the World Teachers' Day, vowing to continue giving back to the country through important posts.
A short film titled "Teacher Leaders" was screened, highlighting the evolution of education in Kuwait, the role of educators in shaping values and fostering national development, followed by a musical performance.
His Highness the Amir awarded the attending teachers and representatives of the excellent schools before departing the venue.

Kuwait Amir receives congratulations from Slovenia's Pres.

President Musar wished His Highness the Amir success and prosperity in the development of the State of Kuwait and hoped he would enjoy lifelong good health. His Highness the Amir Sheikh Meshal reciprocated with a cable to the President, expressing heartfelt gratitude for the good sentiments and wished her lifelong wellness.

Kuwait Amir sponsors, attends cadet officers' graduation

His Highness the Amir, the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, sponsored and attended on Monday graduation of the 23rd batch of cadet officers at Ali Al-Sabah Military Academy. His Highness the Amir, upon arrival at venue of the celebration, was greeted by Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Defense and Acting Minister of Interior Sheikh Fahad Yusuf Saud Al-Sabah, Defense Undersecretary Sheikh Dr. Abdullah Mishal Al-Sabah, Kuwait Army Acting Chief of General Staff Major General Dr. Ghazi Hassan Jazzaa, Commander of Ali Al-Sabah Military Academy Brigadier General Khaled Shujaa Faihan, and the academy commanders. The ceremony was attended by National Assembly Speaker Ahmad Al-Saadoun, His Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Dr. Mohammad Sabah al-Salem Al-Sabah, Chief of the Supreme Judicial Council and Head of the Court of Cassation Justice Dr. Adel Majed Bouresli, senior State officials, a large crowd of the graduates' families and citizens. It kicked started with tunes of the National Anthem, Quranic verses, then the academy commander addressed the crowd with a speech, noting the national need for coping with rapid changes worldwide, calling for this purpose to be attained to overhaul the educational system, promote scientific culture, creativity, innovation and setting up the adequate environment for the progress. In the shadow of the rapid development in the military sector, namely production of state-of-art weapons, the academy has been keen on qualifying the cadet officers to cope with challenges of military and security tasks by means of harnessing "the technology as a strategic option to serve the academic and training realms." The national military educational system has been overhauled, "turning into a distinguished sample based on creativity, rationality, acquiring skills and expertise," he said. Following the speech, military personnel paraded, flag of the academy was swapped among personnel. Then, the graduates were dismissed and military formations paraded. Names of the graduates were declared by the assistant commander of the academy, Brigadier General Fahad Khaled Faisal. then, His Highness the Amir handed over the trophies to the excellent graduated officers and high-record students at the academy. The director of educational and legal affairs, Brigadier General Yusuf Abdullah Idriss, took the legal oath, declared end of the military parade amid tunes of the National Anthem. His Highness the Amir was awarded a memorial on the occasion before he departed the ceremony venue.

Kuwait Amir congratulates Jordan on being Asian Cup runner-up

His Highness the Amir Sheikh Mishal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah sent a cable Saturday to Jordan's King Abdullah II bin Al-Hussein, expressing his sincere congratulations on the second position Jordan's team obtained during the final of the Asian Cup (AFC) Qatar 2023. In the cable, His Highness the Amir commended high sports spirit showed by all participating teams, and Jordan's distinguished performance, saying that getting the second place in this event is a historical achievement to Jordan's soccer. His Highness the Amir further extolled big efforts and preparations made by the hosts Qatar that contributed to the success of the tournament and achieving its goals. Finally, His Highness the Amir wished King Abdullah II wellbeing, and Jordan further progress and prosperity under his wise leadership.

Kuwait Amir receives phone call from UN Secretary-General

His Highness the Amir Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah received on Monday a phone call from UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres. During the call, Guterres touched on the distinguished ties between the UN and the State of Kuwait as well as the pivotal role played by His Highness towards all regional and global issues. He also thanked His Highness for the Kuwaiti positions and its support for humanitarian organizations towards various humanitarian issues, especially Kuwait's assistance to the Palestinian people in the various difficult humanitarian circumstances they are experiencing. In turn, His Highness the Amir thanked the UN Chief for his sincere sentiments and invited him to visit Kuwait.

His Highness the Amir Sheikh Mishal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah sent a cable of condolences Sunday to UAE President Sheikh Mohammad bin Zayed Al-Nahyan. In the cable, His Highness the Amir expressed condolences over the "terrorist" attack on a military base in Somalia that left some UAE soldiers either dead or injured. His Highness the Amir prayed for Allah Almighty to bless the victims' souls, wishing the wounded speedy recovery.
