Kuwait Amir chairs Supreme Defense Council meeting, follows up regional developments

His Highness the Amir and the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah resided on Tuesday a meeting of the Supreme Defense Council in the presence of His Highness the Crown Prince Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah and His Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Ahmad Abdullah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, to follow up on the latest regional developments.
His Highness the Amir was briefed on all the efforts made by the concerned authorities in the country, the coordination between them, the extent of their readiness, and the high level of preparedness among these various sectors to confront any emergency.
Further, His Highness directed all concern parties to take all necessary measures and precautions to preserve the country's security and stability.

Kuwait Amir calls Amir of Qatar

His Highness the Amir Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah on Monday evening called Amir of Qatar Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani in the aftermath of the missile attack launched by the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) on Al-Udeid air base.
During the phone call, His Highness the Amir voiced Kuwait's emphatic condemnation and denunciation of this obvious aggression as a clear breach of Qatar's sovereignty and airspace, as well as international law and the UN Charter.
His Highness reiterated that the State of Kuwait absolutely stands side by side with Qatar's leadership, government and people, and utterly backs all measures and decisions it is taking to safeguard its sovereignty, security and stability.
His Highness the Amir also underlined Kuwait's readiness to use all its potential and resources to support the State of Qatar, stressing that Qatar's security and stability are an integral part of Kuwait's security and stability.
The Amir of Qatar, for his part, voiced much thanks and appreciation to His Highness the Amir, wishing His Highness good health and the State of Kuwait and its people progress and development.

Kuwait Amir condoles with Saudi King over demise of Prince Faisal bin Khaled

Kuwait Amir condoles with Lebanon over demise of former PM

His Highness the Amir Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah sent on Monday a cable of condolences to the Prime Minister of Lebanon Najib Mikati on the passing away of the former prime minister of Lebanon Salim Al-Hoss.
In the cable, His Highness the Amir expressed his sincere condolences and sympathy with Lebanon and its people, and the family of the deceased.
His Highness prayed to God to grant him peace and mercy. His Highness also recalled Al-Hoss' brave stance during the Iraqi occupation of Kuwait in 1990.

Kuwait Amir signs decree reshuffling cabinet

His Highness the Amir Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah signed Sunday a decree reshuffling the cabinet. The Amir decree change the tile of the following cabinet members: 1-Abdulrahman Badah Al-Mutairi, Minister of Information and Culture and Minister of State for Youth Affairs 2-Dr. Nora Khaled Al-Mashaan, Minister of Public Works 3-Omar Saud Abdulaziz Al-Omar, Minister of State for Communications Affairs 4-Mahmoud Abdulaziz Mahmoud Bushehri, Minister of Electricity, Water and Renewable Energy 5-Dr. Amthal Hadi Hayef Al-Huwailah, Minister of Social Affairs and Family and Childhood Affairs The decree, furthermore, appoints the following as new member of the cabinet: 1-Khalifa Abdullah Dhahi Ajeel Al-Askar, Minister of Commerce and Industry 2-Abdullatif Hamed Hamad Al-Meshari, Minister of State for Municipal Affairs and Minister of State for Housing Affairs 3-Dr. Nader Abdullah Mohammad Al-Jallal, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research and Acting Minister of Education 4-Nora Suleiman Al-Fassam, Minister of Finance and Minister of State for Economic and Investment Affairs The decree shall be published in the official Gazette and be effective from the date of its issuance.
