His Highness the Amir Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah received an invitation from Egyptian President Abdelfattah Al-Sisi to attend the inauguration ceremony of the Grand Egyptian Museum (GEM), due on July 3.
His Highness the Crown Prince Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah received a similar invitation.
Kuwait's Foreign Minister Abdullah Al-Yahya was handed both invitations during his meeting with Egypt Ambassador to Kuwait Osama Shaltout, the Kuwaiti Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a statement on Thursday.

A ceremony was held Monday morning at Bayan Palace where His Highness the Amir Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah received the credentials of the following new ambassadors to Kuwait: Dr. Zafar Iqbal of Pakistan, Andreas Panayiotou of Cyprus, Juan Carlos Staben Boillat of El Salvador, Arsen Alexander Arakelyan of Armenia, and Lakshitha Pradeep Ratnayake of Sri Lanka.
Senior state officials attended the ceremony.
