His Highness the Amir, Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, received on Monday at Bayan Palace the President of the Swiss Confederation, Guy Parmelin, on his official visit to Kuwait. The meeting was attended by His Highness the Crown Prince Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah and His Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Ahmad Abdullah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah.
Official reception ceremonies were held in honor of the Swiss President, beginning with the playing of the national anthems of both countries. His Highness the Amir then greeted members of the official delegation accompanying President Parmelin, while the Swiss President shook hands with senior Kuwaiti officials.
Subsequently, official talks were held between the State of Kuwait and the Swiss Confederation. The Kuwaiti side was chaired by His Highness the Amir, while the Swiss side was chaired by President Parmelin, in the presence of the Crown Prince, the Prime Minister, and senior officials from both countries.
Minister of the Amiri Diwan Sheikh Hamad Jaber Al-Ali Al-Sabah stated that the talks touched on the bilateral relations between the two friendly countries and peoples, and ways to support and develop them across various fields. The discussions also focused on expanding frameworks of cooperation between Kuwait and Switzerland to broader horizons in a manner that serves their mutual interests.
He added that the talks addressed key issues of common concern, as well as the latest regional and international developments, with an exchange of views on these matters.
In honor of President Parmelin and the accompanying official delegation, a luncheon banquet was held on his official visit, attended by His Highness the Crown Prince, His Highness the Prime Minister, and senior state officials.

His Highness the Amir Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, in attendance of His Highness the Crown Prince Sheikh Sabah Al-Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah, received at Bayan Palace on Monday His Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Ahmad Abdullah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, who presented their highnesses with the newly appointed ministers.
The Ministers took the constitutional oath on occasion of their appointments; Osama Khaled Boodai swore in as Minister of Commerce and Industry, Jarrah Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah as Minister of Foreign Affairs, and Dr. Reem Ghazi Al-Fulaij as Minister of State for Development and Sustainability Affairs.
As for Dr. Tareq Hamad Al-Jalahma he took the oath to become Minister of State for Youth and Sport Affairs, Abdulaziz Nasser Al-Marzouq swore in as Minister of State for Economic Affairs and Investment, and Dr. Yaqoub Al-Sayed Yousef Al-Refaei as Minister of Finance.
Attending the ceremony were First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, Sheikh Fahad Yusuf Al-Sabah, Minister of Amiri Diwan Affairs Sheikh Hamad Jaber Al-Sabah, and top Amiri Diwan officials.

His Highness the Amir Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah signed a decree on Sunday, reshuffling the cabinet.
The Amiri decree changed the title of the following cabinet member, Omar Saud Al-Omar, to Minister of State for Communications and Information Technology.
The decree appoints: Osama Khaled Boodai: Minister of Commerce and Industry.
Jarrah Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah: Minister of Foreign Affairs.
Dr. Reem Ghazi Al-Fulaij: Minister of State for Development and Sustainability Affairs.
Dr. Tareq Hamad Al-Jalahma: Minister of State for Youth and Sport Affairs.
Abdulaziz Nasser Al-Marzouq: Minister of State for Economic Affairs and Investment.
Abdullah Sabeeh Buftain: Minister of Information and Culture.
Dr. Yaqoub Al-Sayed Yousef Al-Refaei: Minister of Finance. His Highness the Prime Minister should implement this decree, take effect once published in the official gazette.

His Highness the Amir Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, patronized and attended the flag hoist ceremony at Bayan Palace, marking the beginning of national celebrations.
His Highness the Crown Prince Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah, His Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Ahmad Abdullah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, the President of the Supreme Council of the Judiciary and President of the Court of Cassation, Counselor Dr. Adel Bouresli, and top state officials were also in attendance.
A 21-gun salute was fired in welcome of His Highness the Amir, and he was received by members of the Army, Police, and National Guard.
His Highness the Amir then raised the national flag, followed by the playing of the national anthem, and the military band also presented a varied musical performance.

His Highness the Amir Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah will graciously patronize and attend the flag-raising ceremony at Bayan Palace at 10:00 am on Sunday.
