Kuwait Amir appoints PM to act as Deputy Amir while Amir is abroad

His Highness the Amir Sheikh Mishal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah signed an Order Sunday appointing Sheikh Ahmad Abdullah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah as Deputy Amir while His Highness is abroad. The Amiri Order states that this designation would remain valid until the naming of a Crown Prince, and that the Prime Minister should comply with this Order and inform the National Assembly. The Amiri Order takes effect once published in the official gazette.

    Kuwait Amir receives visiting Swiss Pres.

    His Highness the Amir, Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, received on Monday at Bayan Palace the President of the Swiss Confederation, Guy Parmelin, on his official visit to Kuwait. The meeting was attended by His Highness the Crown Prince Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah and His Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Ahmad Abdullah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah.
    Official reception ceremonies were held in honor of the Swiss President, beginning with the playing of the national anthems of both countries. His Highness the Amir then greeted members of the official delegation accompanying President Parmelin, while the Swiss President shook hands with senior Kuwaiti officials.
    Subsequently, official talks were held between the State of Kuwait and the Swiss Confederation. The Kuwaiti side was chaired by His Highness the Amir, while the Swiss side was chaired by President Parmelin, in the presence of the Crown Prince, the Prime Minister, and senior officials from both countries.
    Minister of the Amiri Diwan Sheikh Hamad Jaber Al-Ali Al-Sabah stated that the talks touched on the bilateral relations between the two friendly countries and peoples, and ways to support and develop them across various fields. The discussions also focused on expanding frameworks of cooperation between Kuwait and Switzerland to broader horizons in a manner that serves their mutual interests.
    He added that the talks addressed key issues of common concern, as well as the latest regional and international developments, with an exchange of views on these matters.
    In honor of President Parmelin and the accompanying official delegation, a luncheon banquet was held on his official visit, attended by His Highness the Crown Prince, His Highness the Prime Minister, and senior state officials.

    Newly appointed ministers take constitutional oath before Kuwait Amir

    His Highness the Amir Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, in attendance of His Highness the Crown Prince Sheikh Sabah Al-Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah, received at Bayan Palace on Monday His Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Ahmad Abdullah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, who presented their highnesses with the newly appointed ministers.
    The Ministers took the constitutional oath on occasion of their appointments; Osama Khaled Boodai swore in as Minister of Commerce and Industry, Jarrah Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah as Minister of Foreign Affairs, and Dr. Reem Ghazi Al-Fulaij as Minister of State for Development and Sustainability Affairs.
    As for Dr. Tareq Hamad Al-Jalahma he took the oath to become Minister of State for Youth and Sport Affairs, Abdulaziz Nasser Al-Marzouq swore in as Minister of State for Economic Affairs and Investment, and Dr. Yaqoub Al-Sayed Yousef Al-Refaei as Minister of Finance.
    Attending the ceremony were First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, Sheikh Fahad Yusuf Al-Sabah, Minister of Amiri Diwan Affairs Sheikh Hamad Jaber Al-Sabah, and top Amiri Diwan officials.

    Kuwait Amir signs decree reshuffling cabinet

    His Highness the Amir Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah signed a decree on Sunday, reshuffling the cabinet.
    The Amiri decree changed the title of the following cabinet member, Omar Saud Al-Omar, to Minister of State for Communications and Information Technology.
    The decree appoints: Osama Khaled Boodai: Minister of Commerce and Industry.
    Jarrah Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah: Minister of Foreign Affairs.
    Dr. Reem Ghazi Al-Fulaij: Minister of State for Development and Sustainability Affairs.
    Dr. Tareq Hamad Al-Jalahma: Minister of State for Youth and Sport Affairs.
    Abdulaziz Nasser Al-Marzouq: Minister of State for Economic Affairs and Investment.
    Abdullah Sabeeh Buftain: Minister of Information and Culture.
    Dr. Yaqoub Al-Sayed Yousef Al-Refaei: Minister of Finance. His Highness the Prime Minister should implement this decree, take effect once published in the official gazette.

    Kuwait Amir patronizes, attends flag raising ceremony

    His Highness the Amir Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, patronized and attended the flag hoist ceremony at Bayan Palace, marking the beginning of national celebrations.
    His Highness the Crown Prince Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah, His Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Ahmad Abdullah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, the President of the Supreme Council of the Judiciary and President of the Court of Cassation, Counselor Dr. Adel Bouresli, and top state officials were also in attendance.
    A 21-gun salute was fired in welcome of His Highness the Amir, and he was received by members of the Army, Police, and National Guard.
    His Highness the Amir then raised the national flag, followed by the playing of the national anthem, and the military band also presented a varied musical performance.

    Kuwait Amir receives UAE Deputy PM

    His Highness the Amir Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah received on Wednesday Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the United Arab Emirates Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al-Nahyan and the accompanying delegation at Bayan Palace.
    Sheikh Abdullah conveyed to His Highness the Amir the greetings and best wishes of UAE President Sheikh Mohammad bin Zayed Al-Nahyan and Vice President and Prime Minister Sheikh Mohammad bin Rashid Al-Maktoum, wishing His Highness the Amir continued good health and prosperity for Kuwait and its people.
    In return, His Highness the Amir asked Sheikh Abdullah to convey his greetings to Sheikh Mohammad bin Zayed and Sheikh Mohammad bin Rashid, wishing them continued health and more progress and prosperity to UAE and its people.
    The meeting was attended by Minister of Amiri Diwan Affairs Sheikh Hamad Jaber Al-Ali Al-Sabah, Minister of Foreign Affairs Abdullah Al-Yahya, Director of His Highness the Amir's Office, Lt. Gen.     Kuwait Amir consoles families of deceased officers

    His Highness the Amir Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah received at Bayan Palace on Tuesday First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Fahad Yusuf Saud Al-Sabah and the families of the deceased officers who passed away in the line of duty, Colonel Saud Al-Khamsan and Sergeant Mohammad Al-Hajeri.
    The deceased passed away in a fire that erupted in the general administration building of correctional institutions.
    His Highness the Amir condoled with the families and offered his sincere solace, recalling the deceased's heroic deeds and active professional roles.

    Kuwait Amir congratulates Qatar on Sheikh Joaan's election as OCA president

    His Highness the Amir, Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, sent a congratulatory cable on Monday to the Amir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani, on the election of Sheikh Joaan bin Hamad Al-Thani as President of the Olympic Council of Asia (OCA).
    In the cable, His Highness the Amir expressed his sincere congratulations on this election, noting that it reflects Qatar's high international standing.
    His Highness the Amir also wished Sheikh Joaan success in his new role, extending his best wishes to Qatar and its people for ontinued progress and prosperity under the wise leadership of Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad.
