Kuwait Amir, US Secretary of State discuss Mideast developments

His Highness the Amir Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah received on Wednesday visiting US Secretary of State Marco Rubio, holding talks over current developments around the Middle East region and bilateral relations.
The US top diplomat, who has embarked on a tour across the Gulf Arab region, conveyed US President Donald Trump's greetings to His Highness the Amir, who reciprocated the well wishes to Trump and the American people.
The bilateral talks centered around Kuwait's historic relations with Washington, in addition to efforts aiming to propel these ties to greater levels, while current happenings around the Middle East region and the world as a whole was another topic of discussion.
The talks were attended by a number of Kuwaiti state officials, including Minister of Amiri Diwan Affairs Sheikh Hamad Al-Sabah, Foreign Minister Sheikh Jarrah Al-Sabah, His Highness the Amir's office chief Retired Lieutenant General Jamal Al-Theyab and Amiri Diwan undersecretary Sheikh Abdulaziz Al-Sabah, in addition to Amiri Diwan's undersecretary for foreign affairs Mazen Al-Issa and Kuwaiti ambassador to Washington Sheikha Al-Zain Al-Sabah.
