  Kuwait Amir receives Defense Min., Aviation Authority Head

  His Highness the Amir Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah on Sunday received at Bayan Palace Defense Minister Sheikh Abdullah Ali Abdullah Al-Salem Al-Sabah and Head of the Public Authority for Civil Aviation Sheikh Humoud Mubarak Al-Humoud Al-Jaber Al-Sabah.
  The reception was held on the occasion of Kuwait obtaining International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) Council President's Certificate for Excellence in civil aviation security oversight, in recognition of the progress it has made in establishing an effective civil aviation security monitoring system.
  They also presented His Highness the Amir with a commemorative shield on the occasion of opening the third runway and the new control tower at Kuwait International Airport.
  His Highness the Amir congratulated them on this achievement, wishing them continued success and progress in all regional and international forums.

  Kuwait Amir condoles with Chinese president on Hong Kong fire

  His Highness the Amir Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah sent on Thursday a cable to President of the People's Republic of China, Xi Jinping, expressing condolences on the huge fire that gutted a residential complex in Hong Kong leaving scores of victims and injured.
  His Highness the Amir prayed to families of the victims so they may patiently cope with tragedy and wished the injured quick recovery.

  Kuwait Amir receives credentials of newly appointed ambassadors

  His Highness the Amir Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah received on Tuesday, the credentials of five newly appointed ambassadors to Kuwait at Bayan Palace.
  The envoys included the Ambassadors of Algeria, Omar Belhaj Ibn Mohammad; Kazakhstan, Yerzhan Yelekeyev; Argentina, Ramiro Hernan Velloso; Canada Tara Shearwater; and Djibouti, Issa Khairi Robleh.
  The ceremony was attended by Minister of Amiri Diwan Affairs Sheikh Hamad Jaber Al-Ali Al-Sabah, Foreign Minister Abdullah Al-Yahya, Director of His Highness the Amir's Office retired Lieutenant General Jamal Al-Theyab, and Amiri Diwan Undersecretary Sheikh Abdulaziz Meshal Al-Sabah.
  Also in attendance also Deputy Undersecretary for Foreign Affairs at the Amiri Diwan Mazen Al-Essa, along with other senior officials.
