Kuwait Amir condoles with Sudan over flood victims
His Highness the Amir Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah sent on Sunday, a cable of condolences to the President of the Transitional Sovereign Council of Sudan, First Lieutenant General Abdel-Fattah Al-Burhan Abdelrahman Al-Burhan, expressing sympathy and condolences to the families' of flash flood victims victims caused by Arbaat dam's collapse, which lead to fatalities and injuries, and the destruction of public facilities and properties.
His Highness the Amir wished the injured a speedy and full recovery, hoping that the officials in the country would be able to overcome the effects of this natural disaster.

Kuwait, Lebanon hold official rounds of talks at Bayan Palace
His Highness the Amir Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah and visiting Lebanese President Joseph Aoun headed on Monday the official rounds of talks between Kuwait and Lebanon at Bayan Palace.
The talks were held in the presence of His Highness the Crown Prince Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah, Acting Prime Minister Sheikh Fahad Yusuf Saud Al-Sabah, and senior officials from both countries.
In a statement, Minister of the Amiri Diwan Affairs Sheikh Mohammad Abdullah Al-Mubarak Al-Sabah said the talks focused on ties and means to develop them on all possible domains.
He added that the recent developments in Lebanon were also on the table of discussions, noting that the meeting affirmed that Lebanon had a historic chance to rebuild and develop as to achieve the aspirations of the Lebanese people.
Top issues of mutual concern, ways to boost Arab cooperation, and latest developments on the regional and international domains were also touched on, said the minister. -

Lebanese Pres. arrives in Kuwait on official visit
President of Lebanon Joseph Aoun and his accompanying delegation arrived on Sunday in Kuwait on an official visit to the country.
He was received at the airport by His Highness the Amir Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, and His Highness the Crown Prince Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah.
National Guard Chief Sheikh Mubarak Al-Humoud Al-Sabah, Acting Prime Minister Sheikh Fahad Yusuf Al-Sabah, Minister of Amiri Diwan Affairs Sheikh Mohammad Abdullah Al-Sabah, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs Sherida Al-Maousherji, Minister of Defense and Acting Minister of Interior Sheikh Abdullah Ali Al-Sabah, Minister of Foreign Affairs Abdullah Al-Yahya and senior state officials were also among those who welcomed the Lebanese president.
The honor mission accompanying the president was formed from the Amiri Diwan headed by Advisor at the Amiri Diwan Mohammad Abu Al-Hassan.

Kuwait Amir receives IOC executive board
His Highness the Amir Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah received on Sunday the International Olympic Committee's (IOC) executive board, led by its honorary president Thomas Bach.
Addressing the visiting IOC executive board members, who are in Kuwait to convene the international Olympic body's 45th General Assembly session, His Highness the Amir acknowledged the IOC's support for athletes in the region and beyond.
The gathering in Kuwait, home to the headquarters of the Olympic Council of Asia, is a testament to the "unity" of Asian nations, particularly in the field of sports, His Highness the Amir said, underlining such meetings as instrumental in ratcheting up the amity between them.
His Highness the Amir went on to say that sports go beyond the competitive nature of victories and defeats, rather, such activities help promote virutes including peace and forgiveness, pointing out that athletes represent a pillar of a national 2035 development vision.
Wishing the Olympic body the best of luck in its mission, His Highness the Amir called on national Olympic councils to cooperate over research and knowledge exchange, saying it was imperative to keep the sporting sector on an upward trajectory.
In his speech, the IOC's honorary president thanked His Highness the Amir for his sage words, saying that the Olympic Council of Asia was an integral part of the international Olympic movement, citing "decisons" made by His Highness the Amir as the catalyst towards greater Asian unity.
The IOC official spoke of the tremendous benefits that sporting activities have to offer, which are not limited to health and wellbeing, but are also a platform to bring societies closer together, he emphasized, praising Kuwaiti-led initiatives that have helped bolster the body's works.
He mentioned the emergence of Aritificial Intelligence techonology that has reshaped the landscape of sports, saying that such tools should be used with caution given the possible adverse effects it may have on human decison making.
In a gesture of appreciation towards His Highness the Amir's "immense" contributions towards the Olympic body, the OIC honorary chief bestowed upon him a distinguished medal reserved for world leaders who have left an indelible mark on the international Olympic movement. -

Kuwait Amir receives invitation to Gulf-US Summit in Riyadh
His Highness the Amir Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah received at Bayan Palace on Sunday a written letter from Saudi King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud, inviting him to attend the Gulf-US Summit to be held in Riyadh this month.
Saudi Ambassador to Kuwait Prince Sultan Al-Saud delivered the letter to His Highness the Amir during the reception.

Kuwait Amir congratulates newly elected Pope of the Vatican
His Highness the Amir Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah sent on Sunday a cable of congratulations to the newly elected Pope of the Vatican and Bishop of Rome Leo XIV.
In the cable, His Highness expressed his sincere congratulations to the Pope on the great confidence placed in him by the cardinals through his election as head of the Catholic Church, succeeding Pope Francis I.
His Highness expressed his heartfelt wishes to Pope Leo XIV for continued success in spreading the values of tolerance and justice among peoples, praising the strong relations between Kuwait and the Vatican.
His Highness wished him good health and the Vatican further progress and prosperity.
