In the Name of Allah, Most Gracious Most Merciful,

His Excellency Sheikh Ahmed Al-Homoud Al-Jaber Al-Sabah
Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior

His Excellency Lieutenant General Ghazy Abdul Rahman Al-Omar, Undersecretary of Interior,

Brothers and Sons, leaders, officers and staff of the Ministry of Interior, militaries and civilians

It is a pleasure to meet with you in this blessed night of the Holy Month of Ramadan. I would like to congratulate you all, personally and on behalf of my brothers the Crown Prince Sheikh Nawwaf Al-Ahmed Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, and His Excellency Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmed Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, Deputy Chief of the National Guard on the occasion of the last ten days of Ramadan, which are marked with special reward from Allah the Almighty.

I pray to the Supreme and the Mighty Allah to accept our fasting, night prayer and our good sincere deeds, as he is the Hearer and the Answerer. I also pray to Him to continue blessing our dear country with safety and security, and to make it an oasis that is always brimful with prosperity and luxury.

Bothers and Sons,

I would like in this meeting to commend the Ministry of Defense and the Ministry of Interior, headed by His Excellency the First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense Sheikh Jaber Mubarak Al-Hamad Al-Sabah, and His Excellency the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Ahmed Al-Homod Al-Jaber Al-Sabah. I also commend all the military sectors, particularly the Ministry of Interior for their prompt and accountable response in wisely handling the riot that took place before last night, where they were up to the liabilities entrusted to them in keeping the security and safety of the country.

Also, I would like to commend the efforts exerted by the Iraqi official security authorities and their responsible cooperation in maintaining the brotherly relations that connect the State of Kuwait and the Republic of Iraq, in confirmation of the keenness of both countries to keep such relations sound.

I also acclaim the great efforts exerted by all of you in maintaining the internal safety and security of the country, which can not be let. You have always proved to be up to the liability you shoulder.

The protection of the state security, its public utilities, the security of nationals and expatriates and maintaining their properties is the core of your consecratory liabilities.

Brothers and sons,

I read and witness every day a number of wrong practices and law violations that takes place everyday by vehicle drivers in our streets, which became a yard for daily victims and for wounding innocent people using these roads. I here call upon you to end this dangerous phenomenon and to strictly apply the law on such hasty people and against anyone who tries to violate the law.

Our country has also recently witnessed several types of crimes that are strange to our peaceful, loving and secure society, like drugs, the spread of immoral practices, fraud, theft, electronic crimes and other types of crimes that we are not common to us. Such crimes require your confrontation, and tracing their committers for strict application of deterrent laws.

Our country Kuwait always welcomes straight qualified people who are willing for decent work side by side with the Kuwaiti nationals, and who share in building and developing the country. Therefore, your duty is to confront those who are trying to spread corruption in our country, threat our interior security, and disturb the innocent citizens and expatriates.

Henceforth, the cooperation of straight citizens and expatriates with different security systems is a due requirement for deterring anyone who might think of offending our country, its nationals or the expats, and to keep Kuwait, as it has always been, an oasis of safety and security for all those living therein.

I take this opportunity to congratulate you in advance with the approaching Lesser Bairam (Eid Al-Fitr), praying to Allah to keep the State of Kuwait, the Kuwaiti nationals, and the straight expatriates against every evil, and to continue blessing us with safety and security.

May Allah bless our martyrs with his vast mercy and forgiveness, and rest them in heavens.

Wassalamu Alikom wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuh...
