Speech of His Highness the Amir of Kuwait Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmed Al-Jaber
Al-Sabah In the occasion of The last ten days of the
Holy Month of Ramadan, 1431 A.H.

" Do ye not see that Allah has subjected to your (use) all things in the heavens and on earth, and has made his bounties flow to you in exceeding measure, (both) seen and unseen".

Praise be to Allah, the lord of the universes, the God of lordliness the grantor, who blessed his worshippers with Ramadan, the month of fasting and watch, and prayer and peace be to the most honorable prophet Mohamed, his family and all his companions.

Brothers and Sons,

As I used to, and as part of our continuous communication, I meet with you today in the occasion of the last ten days of the holy month of Ramadan.

I would like in the beginning to congratulate you with the blessings of this holy month, which Allah distinguished over all other months, praying to Allah in this Holy month and those blessed days to accept our fasting, our watch, our good deeds.

May Allah return this month with our dear country and the whole Islamic nation blessed with surplus good and blessing.

Brothers and Sons,

The holy month of Ramadan, with the favoritism and grace granted to it by Allah, represents a starting point of elevation for the believers to repent to Allah.

It is the months where souls purify and people work anxiously to increase their credit of good deeds, restoring communications with family members, and reading the Holy Book of Allah as well as abiding by its provisions in their speech and action.

We are in a dire need to be inspired by these sublime meanings of this holy moth and to remember all the blessings and grants of Allah to us.

Allah the Almighty has granted us uncountable blessings, provided us with security, stability and tranquility, spread among us the feelings of brotherhood and cordiality, and showered us with prosperity and welfare.

We ought to always remember and thank these blessings.

One of the most important manifestations of thanking is to abide by the directives of our Islamic religion, and to preserve our constants and inherited values laid by our fathers and grandfathers, in addition to firmly confronting anyone inciting sectarianism, tribalism and factionalism, spreading the spirit of division, intolerance, and partisanship or to break the unity of our nation.

This requires us to improve our published, audio and visual media means, to practice its anticipated role in forming the enlightened public opinion that supports loyalty to the homeland, deepens the spirit of national unity, spreads love among people, and participates to strengthening the bonds of brotherhood, friendship and cooperation between Kuwait and other countries, and avoiding any incidents that might disturb such relations.

Brothers and Sons,

Our Islamic world is experiencing a painful reality that requires us – as Muslims – to stand as one line for cooperatively and soldierly confronting its challenges in applications of the saying of our Holy Prophet, peace be upon him, "The believers are likened in their cordiality, compassion and empathy to the one body; if one organ is sick, all the body shall be affected suffering fever and insomnia".

These sublime values are believed in by the Kuwaiti people since ancient times; they are always proactive to do good, and to help their Moslem brothers all over the world.

We were deeply affected with the catastrophe of the unprecedented floods suffered by the Islamic republic of Pakistan, which claimed the lives of thousands of victims, and displaced millions who became without shelter or utensils.

Kuwait reacted quickly as usual to participate in handling this humanitarian disaster, providing the Islamic Republic of Pakistan with possible aid, and opened the door for donation, where nationals and expatriates competed to extend help and support.

I great all who participated in the success of the Kuwaiti campaign for relief of flood victims, praying to our Generous God to grant them all His best rewards.

Brothers and Sons,

In these blessed last ten days of Ramadan, which Allah honored compared to other times and granted his worshipers Lailat Al-Qadr, in which the Quran was descended, and in which Allah's giving is the most generous, we pray to Him to forgive our sins, erase our mistakes, and accept us among winners of his heavens, and to  and to preserve our country, maintain the bless of security and safety and guide us all to the right path for serving our dear country.

In these blessed nights, we remember our late Amir Sheikh Jaber Al-Ahmed Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, and our Father Amir Sheikh Saad Al-Abdullah Al-Salem Al-Sabah may Allah encompass them with his grace, and shelter them in heavens May Allah Almighty also encompass Kuwait Martyrs and all late beloved ones with grace and mercy, and shelter them in the heavens; he is the hearer and the answerer.

Wa Assalamu Alaikom wa rahamat Allah wa Barakatuh
