H.H. the Amir and Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah has attended on Wednesday, 25th February, 2009, the graduation ceremony of the 35th batch of military cadets, the 20th batch of specialized officers and the first batch of female cadets of the support authority institute of the Saad Al-Abdullah Acedemy for Security Sciences.

HH the Amir who arrived at the academy at 10:30 am was warmly received by Minister of Interior Lt.-Gen. Sheikh Jaber Al-Khalid Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, Undersecretary of the Ministry Lt.-Gen. Ahmad Al-Rujaib, Assistant Undersecretary for Education and Training Affairs Maj.-Gen. Sheikh Ahmad Al-Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah and Assistant Undersecretary and Director General of Saad Al-Abdullah Acedemy for Security Sciences Maj.-Gen. Yosuf Mubarak Al-Medhahka as well as other senior police officers.

The ceremony was also attended by HH the Crown Prince Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, Vice President of the National Guards Corps Sheikh Mesh'al Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, HH the Premier Sheikh Nasser Al-Mohammad Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense Sheikh Jaber Al-Mubaral Al-Hamad Al-Sabah, and Deputy Minister of Amir Diwan Affairs Sheikh Ali Al-Jarrah as well as other members of the ruling family, senior statesmen and members of the families of cadets.

At the onset of the ceremony the national anthem was played and verses of the Holy Quran were recited and then Director General of Saad Al-Abdullah Acedemy for Security Sciences Maj.-Gen. Yosuf Mubarak Al-Medhahka delivered a speech to the audience.

Al-Medhahka welcomed HH the Amir and the other top guests to the academy and thanked him for his kind attendance at the ceremony.

He offered a briefing on the achievements made by his academy in enhancing the rule of law and security of the homeland over the last years.

He also briefed the audience on the programs for curriculum development and training courses as well as the future projects of the academy.

He thanked the personnel of the academy for their efforts to implement the executive programs and development plans.

Addressing the newly-appointed police officers, Al-Medhahka asked them to set the example for military discipline and professional ethics and spare no effort in defending the security of the homeland.

Then, representatives of the 35th batch of military cadets handed the national flag over to the representatives of the 36th batch. Assistant Director General of the Academy for Education and Training Affairs Brig. Dr. Walid Khalaf Bin-Salama read the ministerial decrees appointing the new male and female police officers at the police force.

The graduates offered a parade before taking oath of allegiance read by Director of the Police College Col. Haroun Mohammad Al-Omr.

HH the Amir handed the eminent graduates awards and certificates in appreciation for their efforts and then received the shield of the academy dedicated for him by Maj.-Gen. Yosuf Mubarak Al-Medhahka.

At the end of the ceremony the national anthem was played before HH the Amir leave the academy.
