Kuwait's Amir patronizes ceremony for student achievers

His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah received on Saturday 14th august 2007 at Bayan Palace Minister of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs and acting Minister of Education and Higher Education Dr Abdullah Al-Maatouq.

Al-Maatouq presented to the Amir a number of student achievers from various grade levels for the school year 2006-2007.

The Amir underscored the importance of education and knowledge as being the primary foundation and the real wealth in the march towards development and prosperity of the homeland.

He urged the students to exert more efforts during their careers, praising the education ministry's staffers who have done a lot to ensure excellence and competence have been met by those distinguished and high-achieving students.

On his part, Al-Maatouq said he was proud to present those distinguished students to HH the Amir, saying they have done so as a result of "your Highness' noble care in all fields." He said that the unprecedented historic call made by the Amir to hold a national educational conference grouping all sects of the Kuwaiti society was the best gift to be rendered by His Highness the Amir to his nation.

On his part, Amiri Diwan Minister Sheikh Nasser Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah conveyed the greetings and best wishes of His Highness the Amir to the distinguished students urging them to exert more efforts in their educational careers.

He praised keenness exerted by His Highness the Amir to education as well as his encouragement to researchers and scientists who are keen on enhancing the educational process and research.

He recalled the Amir's speech during the second parliamentary legislative term on the importance of paying more attention to enhancing education and the holding of specialized conferences in this respect.

Sheikh Nasser then decorated the distinguished students with medals and handed them their graduation certificates.
