His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah sponsored and attended an awards ceremony held Wednesday, December 21, 2011 , by Kuwait Foundation for the Advancement of Sciences (KFAS) at Salwa Al-Ahmad Hall in the Marina Hotel.

His Highness was received upon his arrival to the venue by KFAS Director General Dr. Adnan Shehab-eldin and members of the board. The ceremony was also attended by senior officials topped by His Highness the Crown Prince Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, senior Sheikhs, His Highness Sheikh Nasser Al-Mohammad Al-Ahmad, Prime Minister Sheikh Jaber Al-Mubarak Al-Hamad Al-Sabah, and Deputy Minister of Amiri Diwan Affairs Sheikh Ali Jarrah Al-Sabah.

The ceremony started with the national anthem and a recitation from the Holy Quran followed by a speech by the KFAS Director General. Dr. Shehab-eldin .

After the KFAS chairman's speech, Dr. Habib Zaidi addressed the attendees on behalf of those honored.

After the two speeches, His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah presented the awards and the certificates of merit for 2010.
