His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, accompanied by HH the Crown Prince Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, visited on Sunday Kuwait National Guard officers' club.
They were warmly received by Chairman of the National Guard Sheikh Salem Al-Ali Al-Sabah, Deputy Chairman Sheikh Mishaal Al-Jaber Al-Sabah and Deputy Undersecretary Brig. Staff Zayed Abdullah Nasser as well as several senior officers of the National Guard.
HH the Amir was also accompanied by Deputy Minister of the Amir Diwan Affairs Sheikh Ali Jarrah Al-Sabah, Sheikh Ahmad Fahad Al-Ahamd Al-Sabah, Chief of Staff of HH the Amir's Office Ahmed Fahad Al-Fahad, and acting Undersecretary of the Amir Diwan and Master of the Amiri Ceremonies Sheikh Khalid Al-Abdullah Al-Sabah Al-Nasser Al-Sabah.
HH the Amir's entourage also included Undersecretary of HH the Crown Prince's Diwan Sheikh Mubarak Al-Faisal Al-Sabah, Sheikh Majed Al-Jaber Al-Homoud Al-Sabah, Sheikh Abdullah Nasser Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, Sheikh Abdullah Nasser Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah and Sheikh Sabah Nasser Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah.
HH the Amir gave out a speech on the visit, which he began by congratulating HH the Crown Prince, Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah and the Kuwaiti people on the last ten nights of Ramadan.
He noted to the current tense situation in the region, adding this required vigilance and readiness for any urgent happenings that may arise.
He hailed the efforts of the Kuwaiti National Guard in protecting the country - regarding them the support and backbone of other security sectors of the Army and police - from "those who intend to inflict evil upon the nation." On this, HH the Amir commended the huge roles of Chief of the National Guard, Sheikh Salem Al-Ali Al-Sabah and its Deputy Chief, Sheikh Mishal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, for their continuous devotion to developing the efficiency of National Guard personnel.
On the approaching occasion of Eid Al-Fitr - a celebration which marks the end of the holy month of Ramadan - he congratulated people once more.
For his part, Sheikh Salem Al-Ali Al-Sabah gave out his own speech on the visit.
He said HH the Amir's visit on the last 10 holy nights of Ramadan was inspirational and was a beacon of support for all whom remain faithful to the nation.
Under the leadership of HH the Amir, he asked God to bless the people of Kuwait and keep the nation under constant progress and development.
He also praised National Guard personnel for their efforts in serving the nation.
In his address, Deputy Undersecretary of the National Guard Brig. Staff Zayed Abdullah Nasser expressed joy for the visit of HH the Amir at one of the blissful last ten nights of Ramadan, saying: "The visit strengthens the devotion of the National Guard corps to serve our dear homeland under the wise leadership of HH the Amir - the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces.
"The visit shows clearly the keenness of Your Highness to keep in touch with your sons - the guards of the homeland who hold Your Highness in high esteem, exchange love with you, renew allegiance to you, and believe strongly in their role in protecting the homeland.
"The visit will definitely give momentum to the country's boom and prosperity as manifested in the generous handout given by Your Highness to the citizens and military personnel in several occasions earlier this year.
"Your Highness, I have the honor to affirm that the National Guard is making strides day after day on the road of modernization in the light of the your instructions and the instructions of its Chief Sheikh Salem Al-Ali Al-Sabah.
"We have made a good progress in the implementation of the National Guard's strategy (2010-2015) for constant modernization and restructuring through introducing the state-of-art equipment and launching the Supreme Council of the National Guard," he added.
After the speeches a number of heroic poems were read and drew admiration from the audience.
At the end of the visit, HH the Amir signed his name in the register of honor.
