Kuwait's Amir launches
campaign on marine
environment protection

His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah inaugurated here on Tuesday a campaign on the protection of marine environment.

His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah inaugurated here on Tuesday a campaign on the protection of marine environment.

The launching was attended by His Highness the Crown Prince Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, National Assembly Speaker Jassem Al-Kharafi, acting Prime Minister, Defense and Interior Minister and President of the Supreme Environment Council Sheikh Jaber Mubarak Al-Hamad AL-Sabah as well as Minister of Amiri Diwan Affairs Sheikh Nasser Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah.

The Amir then offered a number of rare coral reefs to head of the Voluntary Work Center Sheikha Amthal Al-Ahmad AL-Jaber Al-Sabah as to initiate the campaign.

The Amir stressed the importance of preserving the Kuwaiti marine environment especially as Kuwait has always been attached to the sea for its living for the past decades.

He also praised the valuable efforts exerted by the volunteers who have never hesitated in serving interests of their homeland.

Sheikha Amthal expressed, on behalf of the center's employees, gratitude for the keenness expressed by the Amir to issues pertaining to the environment protection.

The Amir was awarded a memorial shield on this occasion.
