The graduation ceremony of the 13th batch of cadets and 36th of military officers was held at Ali Al-Sabah Military Academy on Monday 23 March 2009 , under the patronage and attendance of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces.

His Highness's motorcade arrived at the scene of the ceremony at 10:30 am, where His Highness was welcomed by First Deputy Prime Minister and Defense Minister Sheikh Jaber Al-Mubarak Al-Hamad Al-Sabah and Army Chief-of-Staff Air Marshal Fahad Ahmad Al-Ameer, as well as the academy's director and members of the Military Defense Council.

Also attending the ceremony were His Highness the Crown Prince Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, Deputy Chief of the National Guards Sheikh Mishaal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, His Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Nasser Al-Mohammad Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, Minister of Amiri Diwan Affairs Sheikh Nasser Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, as well as senior sheikhs and government officials, in addition to a host of families of the graduates.

After the National Anthem was played and a recitation from the Holy Quran was delivered, Director of Ali Al-Sabah Military Academy Major General Rashid Ghazi Al-Mashaan made a speech, were he welcomed His Highness the Amir's attendance, underlining utmost loyalty and dedication of the graduates in fulfilling their patriotic duties under the wise leadership of His Highness the Amir.

The graduation ceremonies were then commenced, as cadets and officers of both batches received their certificates, followed by a speech delivered by Assistant Director of the Academy for Educational Affairs Colonel Fahad Abdurrahman Al-Bazz.

His Highness the Amir then handed out awards for well-achievers at the academy.
Director of Human Resources and Supplies Department Colonel Suleiman Abdullah Al-Azmi then read out the Amiri protocols, followed by a silent demonstration of various military skills performed by the graduates. Afterwards, commander of officers' brigades' colonel Barrak Al-Duaij recited the legal oath of graduation, followed by the National Anthem at the conclusion of the ceremony.

His Highness the Amir; after heading to the Amiri receptions' hall, was gifted with a commemorative plaque on the occasion. His Highness then left the ceremony as overwhelmingly as His Highness was received with.
